Ride camp will be at Helen's house: 1950 SE 111th Court, Morriston
Overnight camping (show in yellow): Please pull into the main driveway and back in your trailer so that you are perpendicular to a fence. Your horse should be corralled behind your trailer if possible (between your trailer and the fence). Don't hang anything on the fences! Please park as close as possible to your neighbor to ensure sufficient space for all campers.
Day rider parking (shown in red):
Because so many riders live nearby, this ride is day-rider friendly. Please come by on Friday afternoon without your horse and park in front of the house to check-in, set up your crew area, and enjoy dinner and the ride meeting. On Saturday morning, arrive at least one hour before ride time and park as shown in red (second driveway) and park perpendicular to the fence. There is a pass-through gate to the vetting area. You can vet in your horse in the morning.
Dogs and Extra Horses: Dogs are welcome and must be on a leash at all times. You must clean up after your dog. Only horses that are entered in the competition may be brought onsite; no extra horses.
Dinner: Bob will be providing a delicious dinner once again. Dinner will be pasta and chicken, and vegetarians can elect to eliminate chicken. Dinner is included with the rider entry, and additional meals may be purchased on the registration form. Food items including coffee, beverages, sandwiches, and more will be available for purchase from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM on ride day.
Horse Water: Multiple spigots are located throughout the property.
Crewing Area: A large crewing area will be marked in the back, near the vet check area. Crewing may not take place beyond the starting line. Anyone that crews beyond the starting line will forfeit ride placement for their rider(s) and will only be awarded a completion. You may wish to bring a cart to move all your stuff from your trailer to the crew area.
Amenities: Minimal. There will be 3 porta-potties onsite.
Manure: Please scatter manure and do not leave piles.
Goethe Benefit is sanctioned with AERC, SERA, and SEDRA.
Two distances will be offered: 25 and 50.
The 50 will traverse 3 loops, and the 25 will have 2 loops.
Most of the trails are two-track, but there are some areas of single-track. Hoof protection is recommended for the 50s and may be considered for the LD. Trail conditions will be updated as the ride date nears.
All vet checks are in camp, and there is no crewing beyond the starting gate. The 50s will have a 10-minute stop 'n go during the first loop. Hay and water will be available at the stop. Crew may not meet riders at the stop 'n go or the finish line.
All riders must wear helmets when mounted. No exceptions.
